Video: Node.js Members Discuss the Future of the Foundation and the Tech

“Node.js has grown exponentially in the last seven years. I started with it in 2009, when we were a dozen or so folks on a mailing list. Since then, it’s become the de facto server-side JavaScript implementation,” said Isaac Schlueter, co-founder and CEO of npm.

The technology has grown so far since its inception in 2009. It has become the glue that ties and drives the API economy — a way to simplify web development — and the driver behind massively scalable applications.

Whether an enterprise is looking to transition to mobile or take a bite out of the growing data and device-focused Internet-of-Things opportunity, Node.js shows up for its ability to scale and perform. Startups too are continually looking to integrate Node.js as a part of their infrastructure. Node.js use cases are everywhere.

The Node.js Foundation was created to help bring stability and maximum opportunity to the Node.js ecosystem in its next growth phase for both the community and enterprise users. In this video, several Node.js Foundation members from PayPal, Joyent, npm and StrongLoop (an IBM company) discuss the importance of the organization, and what’s next for the Foundation and the technology.
